9CT ROSE GOLD BIG BEN CHARM CM00236

£110.00

The name Big Ben is often used to describe the clock tower, but in fact the name Big Ben actually refers to the bell.

The correct name of the tower is the Elizabeth tower, which stands at the north end of the Houses of Parliament and was completed in 1859 and the great Clock started on the 31 May,with the great bell’s strikes heard for the first time on the 11th July and the quarter bells first chimed on the 7th of September.

Big Ben was made in the Whitechapel Bell Foundry which is Britain’s oldest manufacturing company, having been established in 1570 (during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I) and being in continuous business since that date.
